“Oneness” has a new meaning

This solitude beckons to consume

A companionship addict who’s feining

This loneliness threatens to eat my soul

So I’m thankful I have Jah by my side

He fills this gaping hole

Yet my desire for a friend won’t subside

No hugs, no laughter, no consolation

No one to share my joy and pain

I know Jah will hear my supplication

Living my life with my eyes wide shut
walking around like a zombie in the night,
had me in the worse kind of rut
not even realizing I could fight
Doin what I was told was the right thing
tryin to make everyone proud
sad and sorry with my clipped wings

Then enough was finally enough
my survival instinct kicked in

Some Days....

Some days just slip out of my grasp

like sand through preoccupied fingers

No movement, just thoughts propelling me nowhere

Some days go by without my noticing

and when I finally do, it’s too late, time wasted

No lists checked off, no accomplishments made

No revelations had, though, just a mental workout

as the needed tasks seem so meaningless

Dancin beneath the light of the new moon

Shouting my wishes to the universe and

offerin up my prayers to the Most High

askin H.I.M. to bring my hearts desire

My heart is racin from the exhileration

of hope pumpin through my veins

feels like it will burst and a thousand

tears and a ton of laughter will pour

out onto the ground with no way to retrieve them

I’ve come too far to let fear and hesitation distract

me from my trod to the throne as the rightful heiress

I’m kickin up my heels cuz this time feels like the righttime, the time I get it right

Yes I’m shoutin my wishes for the world to hear tonight

No shame in my game, I know why I came
